Profile

Writer
Jono Pryor is a seasoned writer and creator with over 20 years of experience across television, radio, and digital media. With a strong voice, sharp humour, and a passion for bold, character-driven storytelling, he’s behind some of New Zealand’s most iconic comedic content.
As co-creator and head writer of the multi-award-winning Jono and Ben, Jono helped define a generation of Kiwi comedy. He recently created and wrote Vince (2024), a scripted series about a disgraced breakfast TV host, and continues to develop original IPs blending satire, heart, and social commentary.
Currently in development are The Neighbour—a dark suburban comedy about kindness gone wrong—and Vicarious, a sharp satire on modern parenting and sideline culture. Known for his collaborative style and creative leadership, Jono brings wit and emotional insight to every project, from concept to screen.
